NGAKOR FOROGBEH'S FIRST CHRISTMAS

This is Ngakor Forogbeh Mustapha's first Christmas. On behalf of him, his Mum and myself, congratulations to you guys on this Christmas and wish you all a blissful holiday.

I find it very sweet and nice carrying #Ngakor on my back. Apart from the show of my culture and tradition, I believe it's very comfortable for him, as it easily puts him to sleep.

Across Sierra Leone, the act of carrying babies on the back is primarily reserved for women. They can be seen carrying giggling or sometimes sleeping babies as seen on my back.

To me, ascribing roles to individuals based on their sex is not only discriminatory, but it's also a barrier to socio-economic development.

Ngakor's Mum - Mariama S. Bangura can freely engage in any socio-economic activities of her choice. Child bearing is not a barrier and should not interfere with her career.

Be assistive. Do not leave all household chores to her alone.
